THE GLOBAL TEACHERS’ HOUSING PROJECT
The GLOBAL TEACHERS’ HOUSING PROJECT is a subsidized housing project initiated by the Union for qualified and interested members. It’s a bold response to the recent call by members for the Union to provide affordable housing opportunities for members.
The project will focus on selecting the best plots of land possible from which a community of GTCCU members only may be established. Through members’ effort combined with the complementing support of the Union members be able to put up controlled housing units consistent with their financial means. Throughout this project attention will remain on affordability therefore where possible the Union will subsidize the prices of these plots of lands so that they become accessible to all categories of members of the Union.
WHAT IS PHASE ONE PROJECT
The first of this project is the planned Community MOGLAA project. This is a fifty-acre parcel of land located to the north of the new International Airport. This prime location is suitable for high value residential and commercial units.
ANY COMPLEMENETS OF THE PHASE ONE PROJECT
The phase one project is just 0.65 kilometers or approximately 650 meters north of the main Tamale International Airport. The project has easy access to water and electricity. The KUMBUMGU to SAVELUGU main road is connected to the phase one project. The Union has undertaken additional effort to develop access routes to all parts of the project.
WHAT IS THE SUBSIDIZED PRICE
The asking price per plot is Ghs 4,500.00 this amount will cover the price of the plot as well as other title transfer processing cost.
WHAT IS THE COMENCEMENT DATE
Sale of the project will commence in March,2024.

ANY COMPLEMENTARY FUNDING OPTIONS
The will has opened a common funding account for all qualified allottees. By this account qualified members can apply for amounts not exceeding Ghs 20,000.00 at 10% per annum to start the project. This fund applies to only members with the repayment affordability on their pay slips.

The next phase will commence as soon as the current phase has been closed.
